Barnaby Creek Ponies is a family run operation owned by Erika Carlson and my 2 children, Cody & Samantha Carlson. My mom, Sue Naccarato, my niece Alexys Hall, and my friend Shannon Flaherty are also a major part of our ranch.

All ponies are trained by me (Erika Carlson). I concentrate mainly on youth ponies and helping youth exhibitors get started in ponies. I train classics, moderns amd miniatures. I love to work with children and I currently have 7 children in training with me. I do take adult clients as long as they don't mind lots of kids. So if you are looking for a great trainer with a flair for fun, give us a call. If you need a great pony to show, check out the sale page or e-mail us.

I train for driving, showmanship, halter, halter and driving obstacle. $300 per month for Shetland ponies and miniatures; $400 for welsh, hackney and full size horses. Extra fees for hauling to shows and showing your horse.

Here are some of my kids and there ponies:

In loving memory ...
BC Jumpin Jack Flash

Foundation Classic Gelding

Jack was sired by Clyde and his dam was "Lil" Britches Jupiter Flash. He was raised and trained by me and owned & loved by Nikki Ziegler, age 9 (from Spokane, WA). Unfortunately, Jack was killed in a terrible trailering accident.

Nikki Ziegler with her ponies. Nikki won the 2006 Audrey Barrett Classic Award and she plans to show all three of her ponies and Sheeza's Baby (sired by Time for Applause) during the 2007 season. She also won the reserve Over-all hi-point youth at Congress, the classic youth hi-point girl 12 & under, and the Congress youth award 12 & under. What a great year! We are very proud of Nikki and her accomplishments.

George is a 2000 black Classic gelding by Clyde and out of "Lil" Britches Ann's Kimmie. Raised & trained by Erika Carlson. Owned & loved by Alexys Hall, Kettle Falls, WA, age 11. They placed in the top ten in every class they had at the 2004 Congress.

"Lil" Britches Miss Charlie

This one is special to us. This is Shannon Flaherty and "Lil" Britches Miss Charlie". Shannon started showing with Erika when she was 11 years old and has really become part of the family. Besides co-owning Charlie with Erika she shows many of the ponies and is always willing to lend a hand. 2004 is Shannon's last sumer with us before she leaves for college and we will miss her, but Charlie and Erika will be waiting anxiously for her to come home. Good Luck Shan!

Charlie's 2003 National All-Star placings with Shannon Flaherty:

  • 4th - Classic Halter obstacle
  • 5th - Foundation mares 3 & older
  • 5th - Classic open pleasure driving
  • 3rd - Classic youth pleasure driving
